Dear Sierra Unified Community,

It has been another busy and productive week across our district. I am continually inspired by the dedication of our students, staff, and families as we work together to support student success.

Music and Arts in Our Schools This month, we are especially proud to celebrate the Music and Arts in our schools. The arts are a vital part of a well-rounded education, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and emotional expression in our students. We have several upcoming events showcasing the incredible talent of our young artists and musicians, and I encourage you all to attend and witness the impact these programs have firsthand. Supporting the arts is not just about performance; it’s about providing our students with the tools they need to innovate and succeed in all areas of life.

Measure U Updates We continue to make steady progress on our Measure U projects.
The mechanical project has been successfully reviewed by the Division of the State Architect (DSA).
The mechanical project (large gym HVAC) is expected to be under construction this coming Summer, however long lead times in the electrical equipment could pose challenges in completing the project before school starts in August.
Mark Wilson Construction is currently conducting Value Engineering to ensure high-quality bidding for upcoming work.
Darden Architects is closely monitoring the DSA for the completion and approval of the remaining projects.

District Learning Assessment 3 In the classroom, our students have begun the District Learning Assessment 3 (DLA 3). These assessments are an important tool for our educators to gauge student progress and tailor instruction to meet the unique needs of every learner.

Thank you for your ongoing support and for being such a vital part of the Sierra Unified family.

Warm regards,
Dr. Lori Grace
Superintendent, Sierra Unified School District
