1.30.26 SUSD Weekly Message from the Superintendent

Dear Sierra Unified Community,
As always, I want to thank you for your continued partnership and engagement in the work of our
schools. One of the ways our community plays a direct and meaningful role in supporting
transparency and accountability is through service on our Citizen Bond Oversight Committee, and I
would like to share an upcoming opportunity.
Our Citizen Bond Oversight Committee is made up of community members who generously volunteer their
time to serve. The responsibility of this committee is to inform the public about how bond funds
are being spent and to ensure those funds are used as intended to benefit our students and schools.
Members of this committee are appointed by the Sierra Unified School Board for one- or two-year
terms. Half of our current members serve one-year terms, and as a result, there will be five
positions available beginning in March 2026.
We are seeking applicants who represent the following categories:
- One member of a senior citizens organization One member of a taxpayer organization
- One parent of a student currently enrolled in the District
- One parent of a student in the District who is also a member of a parent-teacher organization
- One member-at-large
applications must be submitted to the District Office no later than February 26, 2026.
We are fortunate to live in a community where people care deeply about our schools and are willing
to step forward in service. If you or someone you know may be interested in contributing in this
way, I encourage you to consider applying.
Thank you for your continued support of Sierra Unified and for helping us remain strong,
transparent, and community-centered.
With appreciation,
Dr. Lori Grace SuperintendentSierra Unified School District
