How It Works
New Student Enrollment
Call our front office to schedule a meeting the with Sierra@Home Education Team (559) 855-3020.
Bring in the following documents to our front office:
- Birth Certificate
- Immunizations
- Completed drop slip from former school with Updated Transcript
- Proof of Residency (choose 2)
- Recent PG&E Bill
- Water Bill or Garbage Bill
- Rental or Lease Agreement
- Escrow Papers with Closing Date within 45 Days
- Recent Paycheck Stub
- Voter Registration Card or Certified Copy of the Voter Registration Application Form
Create your Parent/Student Portal on Aeries and fill out all documents required to complete the enrollment process.
At your appointment with your supervising teacher, you will discuss educational options and choose core curriculum, along with enrichment classes and any extracurricular activities the student may be interested in.
Upon completion of pre-enrollment requirements, enrollment will take place within 5 school days.
Inner District Transfer Student Enrollment
- Call your current school's front office and request a transfer to Sierra@Home. Your student will be places on our District Transfer Log.
- Bring Drop Slip to our Office
- Registrar will upload all information to our database
- Update any documents on AERIES
- Your student's new supervising teacher will call you to make an enrollment appointment
At your appointment with your supervising teacher, you will discuss educational options and choose core curriculum, along with enrichment classes and any extracurricular activities the student may be interested in.

At the Enrollment Appointment
At the enrollment meeting, you will:
- Meet with Supervising Teacher
- Sign Master Agreement
- Sign Parent, Teacher, Student Compact
- Check out Technology (if needed)
- Laptop
- Hotspot
- APEX or Schools PLP Login and Training of Curriculum
- Recieve a district Student Email & Google Drive
- Set up regular weekly appointment times and daily student learning schedules to support educational and attendance requirements.
Individual Learning Plan (ILP)
- Sierra@Home Education Team creates an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) that documents completed courses and maps out future courses needed to graduate, attend college, or plan for a career.
- Student engages in assigned learning experiences and activities to meet their ILP goals. The student receives support from their family and their teacher in meeting educational requirements.
- Any students not meeting their ILP goals or targeted standards will receive additional support from teacher until the goals are met.

*UC Applicants must earn a GPA of 3.0 or better in these courses with no grade lower than a C.
Program Requirements
- Students must turn in assignments for each course by each Friday. Work will determine attendance at the end of each Learning Period. Your attendance is based on your work completion. NO WORK = NO ATTENDANCE!
- 8TH- 12TH GRADES
- REQUIRED: LOG IN DAILY! STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO FINISH ALL SUBJECT AREAS WITHIN 4 HOURS EACH DAY WHICH IS A TOTAL OF 20 SCHOOL HOURS PER WEEK.
- STUDENT MUST COMMUNICATE FACE TO FACE WITH SUPERVISING TEACHER VIA IN PERSON OR
BY GOOGLE MEETS A MINIMUM OF 1 TIME PER WEEK. IF PREFERRED, ALL OTHER
COMMUNICATION MAY BE DONE THROUGH TEXT, EMAIL, OR BY PHONE.
- K-6TH GRADES
- REQUIRED: STUDENTS/PARENTS OF YOUNGER STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO CHECK IN WITH
YOUR TEACHER VIA GOOGLE MEETS, ZOOM OR PHONE AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK.
- REQUIRED: STUDENTS/PARENTS OF YOUNGER STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO CHECK IN WITH
- District Learning Assessments (DLA's) and state testing are required! NO EXCEPTIONS!
Options to Attend Other SUSD School Sites
At any time, if the family wishes for their student to attend a seat-based program at another school site within the district and the student is on track to meet their graduation requirements in all subject areas, the family works with a teacher to create a Transition Plan to return back to traditional school.
