The mission of Sierra@Home is to focus on each individual with their unique learning needs to acquire knowledge, confidence, and skills. Students will learn how to build and identify their individual strengths to prepare for becoming an engaged and productive member of society.

Our vision is to be strong advocates of student-focused learning through facilitation of a broad range of curriculum programs and robust communication with students and families centered around student needs.

A Personalized Homeschool Experience.

We want to give our Sierra families as many choices and opportunities for their child as possible. Sierra@Home is an alternative school of choice allowing students to receive schooling at home with a co-education experience between parent and school district.Parents have a choice of curriculum options to design a personalized program with the Sierra@Home Teacher Specialist. Your Specialist is with you all the way – with weekly check-ins and District Learning Assessments 3 times a year to see how the child is doing in relation to traditional school standards.

A Message From the Director

We’re off to a great start of the 2024-2025 school year. We are happy you have decided to learn about our Sierra@Home & Sierra@Home Elementary. My name is Anthony Abrams and I am the Sierra Alternative Educational Coordinator. Being an independent study student requires dedication, self-motivation, and responsibility. At Sierra@Home you have the opportunity to complete your coursework at home and meet with your teacher each week, go over tests and quizzes, receive tutoring, and review next week's coursework. Your supervising teacher will guide you throughout the year in your courses and assignments.

Students use APEX Learning, an online learning platform. Your teacher adds classes to your child’s online learning platform. Upon enrollment, your supervising teacher will reach out to you for an orientation appointment and review expectations for the year. Please complete your registration by acknowledging documents within your parent portal through ARIES.
